Singing Saturday- God Gave Me You

If you've read any of this blog or my other blog then you know my very strong feelings about marriage. For Better or for Worse is for Better or for Worse. Not For Better or for Better. This is a great song that reflects that. You'll be glad you listened.

God Gave Me you by Dave Barnes

I've been a walking heartache
I've made a mess of me
The person that I've been lately
Ain't who I wanna be
But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm blows through
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

There's more here than what we feel
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely, can somehow fall for me
You'll always be love's great martyr
I'll be the flattered fool
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you

On my own, I'm only half of what I could be
I can't do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I could never undo

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I've lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it's true
God gave me you
Gave me you

I love this song... I heard on Air 1 that he wrote it for pretty much anyone, not just a spouse, but a best friend, a close family member, etc. But it sure is relevent to my marriage!!!
