Supper Sunday- Chili to Warm You


Chili to Warm You

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 pound stew meat
1  large can crushed tomatoes
2 cans diced tomatoes (flavored is fine)
red bell pepper, chopped
green bell pepper, chopped
Onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, pressed
olive oil
shredded cheese
Chili Powder
Cumin
Onion Powder
Salt and Pepper
 
Directions:
Grab a large dutch oven pot or stock pot.  Put in about 3 TBS olive oil to cover bottom of pan.  Heat oil on Med-High.  Saute Onions for about 2 minutes.  Add in pressed garlic, cook additional 2 minutes.  Add in ground beef stew meat.  Sprinkle with 2 TBS chili powder, 1 TBS cumin.  Cook, breaking up ground beef until browned.  Add in bell peppers.  Cook about 5 minutes.  Now add in all of the tomatoes.  If you need to add liquid add some water or beef broth.  Sprinkle the entire pot with additional 2 TBS chili powder and garlic and onion powder, salt and pepper.  Allow to simmer for at least an hour to let the flavors meld together.  Serve with grated cheese :)
